This workshop is held through 49 Writers, a vibrant community of diverse Alaskan writers. This class takes place on more than one date (Saturdays March 5, 12, & 19) but must be registered for as a single class.
Many writers of both prose and poetry find inspiration in visual imagery. The pairing of words and images into “broadsides” is part of a long tradition in the writing world. And one of the oldest and most time-honored methods for creating broadsides is the letterpress. In this three-week workshop, join artist and printmaker Bryce Fredrick at the Tent City Press studio in Anchorage to learn hands-on the craft of letterpress printing. Don’t miss this opportunity to broaden your creative horizons in a fun and supportive environment, and to create original broadsides of your own – just in time for National Poetry Month!
